Holiday Blues

Someone is drowning

This is no new news

Somebody is drowning in Holiday Blues

As the Jingle Bells Jingle

And the snow begins to fall

Someone is crying inside their four walls

The holidays are lovely

When loved ones are near

When we gaze into the eyes

Of those we hold dear

Yet someone crucial is missing

To many in need

Someone departed, or who decided to leave

We see glowing commercials

Fueled by greed

And think “What is wrong with me, where’s my joy?”

But your heart bleeds

There is nothing wrong with you

It’s just that you care

For loved ones and friends

Who cannot be there

Hark the Herald

Angels Sing ….

“We see your pain

We feel it’s sting”

The Three Kings have wisdom

To gift you this year

Turn your eyes toward the Star

Hold back your fears

Nothing is wrong with you

You see, you love, you feel

Your joy will return

Next year with zeal

And then you’ll remember

The Holiday Blues

And reach out to others

To share the good news

That bad times they come

Then they go just as fast

But the Savior, the Star, the Wisdom will last

So sing if you must

The Holiday Blues

Just remember the Angels

Will carry you through.
